Kenneth “Kenny” Lunsford Crowder, 64, of Chesterfield was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Kenny was born in Petersburg to the proud parents of the late John Wesley Crowder, II and Evelyn Maxine Lunsford Crowder. He is preceded in death by his two older brothers, John Wesley Crowder, III and David William Crowder; maternal grandparents, William E. and Evelyn Archer Lunsford; paternal grandparents, John W. and Ollie Ellington Crowder, and his aunt Laverne “Bernie” Lunsford Sprouse. Kenny was a skilled, meticulous master Electrician and owned his own Electrical Business, Colonial Electric (later named K L Crowder Company), for many years, and was well known by his friends and the community for his excellent, and honest work ethic, his attention to detail, along with his superior electrical knowledge and expertise. He took pride in his work and treated all of his customers like family. He retired from Honeywell after 30+ years of service. He was a true and genuine friend who was always willing to lend a helping hand and give back to his community. Many will remember him for his generous heart, his witty/humorous personality, his handsome smile, and his extremely clean and organized home! Kenny was an extremely devoted, loving and supportive father to his children Ken and Heather; beloved fox hounds, Frank & Ollie and PaPaw to his precious granddaughter, Myra Grace, and his grand dogs, Henry and Myles. He enjoyed reading, traveling, working with his hands, history, beach music, shagging, playing golf and the occasional cold beer! He was an active member of the Shag Club, Hopewell Moose, and Corvette Club, even winning a trophy at one of the local car shows for best in show. He was also a devoted member of Woods United Methodist Church and proudly served as a Trustee for many years. He is survived by his beloved and devoted children, Ken Crowder II, and fiancée, Courtney McKenna; Heather Crowder Motrynczuk (Robert) his parents, Peter and Toni Motrynczuk; his cherished granddaughter, Myra Grace Motrynczuk; sister, Karen Crowder Bristow (Allen); mother of his children and loyal friend, Pamela Crowder Avery; sister-in-law, Patsy Crowder; nieces, Angela Crowder Van Wagner (Scott), Patricia Crowder Horner (Ross), Melissa Crowder Rhoden (Travis); nephew, John Wesley Crowder IV “Jody” (Angela); great-nieces, Lucinda Maxine Rhoden “Lucy”, Evelyn Grace Horner “Grae” and many close friends. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at MCV Massey Cancer Center for the outstanding care and treatment he received as well as the wonderful staff and Aides from, At Home Care Staffing/At Home Care Hospice who cared for Kenny over the past few months. In addition, a heartfelt thank you to Kenny’s church family along with some special friends who provided meals, cared for his dogs and maintained his lawn, sent cards, visited frequently and accompanied him to doctor’s appointments. Your generosity and kindness is much appreciated! A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 14th, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son, 103 S. Adams Street, Petersburg, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior beginning at 12:00 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kenny’s honor to the American Brain Tumor Association,
