Kenneth W. Nugent Sr., of Chesterfield, Virginia, departed this life on Sunday, April 15, 2018 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Raymond N. Nugent Sr. and Ruby Wright Nugent. He was also preceded in death by his beloved brother, Raymond N. Nugent Jr. “Buddy”. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life for over 60 years, Sallie E. Howlett Nugent; daughter Teresa D. Nugent Forbes and her husband, Jesse; son Kenneth W. Nugent Jr. and his wife, Cheryl; a grandson, Jesse Dale Forbes “Jay”; twin granddaughters, Jennifer Leigh Forbes, Emily Jane Forbes; great granddaughter, Leah Catherine Forbes; sisters, Shirley N. Volz, Barbara N. Brooks and her husband “Earl”, Jean N. Barker and her husband, Claude; sister-in-law, Florence J. Nugent; four step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends that he loved and cared for very much. Kenny was retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation in Petersburg, Virginia and retired from Chesterfield County School Board. He was an avid football and baseball fan, especially the San Francisco 49ers, and played baseball in his youth for many local teams. He is remembered by many as being the player wanted at the plate when the team needed a big hit to win the game. He also loved hunting, fishing, and working in the yard of his home for over 54 years. He was a kind, generous, loving man with a keen sense of humor and a great laugh. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday April 19, 2018 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home.
