Kenneth Ray Thore, 73, formerly of Hopewell, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in John Randolph Medical Center. Mr. Thore served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and was a retired pipefitter with Allied Chemical Corporation. He was the son of the late Arthur Daniel and Minnie Payne Thore and the widower of Betty Davis Thore. Mr. Thore was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph P. Thore and Thom R. Thore. He was a very proud and loving â??Papawâ? to his beautiful granddaughters, who were the â??apple of his eyeâ?. There could never be a more tender- hearted and giving father and friend. He is survived by his daughter, Toni Thore Lee-Andrews and her husband Francis W. Andrews, two granddaughters, Chelsi Rae Lee and Caiti Rae Lee, all of Prince George, two brothers, Edward A. Thore of Petersburg, Howard D. Thore of Hopewell, a longtime companion, who dearly loved him, Barbara Y. Cole of Colonial Heights, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 3, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 4, 2007 at 11:00 AM in Rivers Edge Bible Church with the Rev. Andy Paul, Pastor, officiating.
