Kevin A Gable, 67, of Chester, VA, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Medical College of Virginia. Born June 21, 1957, in Waynesboro, PA, the son of the late Eugene Gable, Jr. and Doris Johnson, of Prince George, VA. Preceded also in death by his brother, Raymond E Rodes.
On March 18, 1989, he married Faith E. Faris, who survives him.
Kevin served as a Security Specialist in United States Air Force for five years and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed as a Senior Financial Specialist at the Virginia Department of Taxation for 15 years and was a member of The Heights Baptist Church. He loved his two dogs, Angel and Ella Rose. Kevin also loved bowling, winning numerous trophies during his career and bowling two-perfect 300 games. He was passionate about Penn State Football, Kentucky Wildcat basketball, and attending sporting events at the University of Virginia with his best friend, David.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Ethan, of Chester, VA; brothers, John Toms (Becky), of State Line, PA, and Mark Faust (Jo), of Chambersburg, PA; uncle, James Johnson, of Prince George, VA; and brothers-in-law, Ron Faris (Gretchen), of Portland, Maine and Wendell Faris (Susan), of Galena, OH; and numerous nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 West Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831. Friends and family may visit one hour prior the service, starting at 5:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held later at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kevin's name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
