Kristina Rae "Birdie" Gill

Kristina R. Gill, 32, recently of East Bend, NC and formerly of Chesterfield, VA, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013. She loved hunting and fishing. Ms. Gill loved to tend to her flower garden, and folks always said she had a golden thumb. She never met anyone she didn’t like or who didn’t like her, and always had a glowing smile on her face. Ms. Gill is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Bernard and Mary “Bootsie” Gill. She is survived by her well loved daughters, Taylor and Claire Scantling; her fiancé, Clifford Plowman; her mother, Michelle Wray and her stepfather, Steven; her father, Stephen R. Gill and his fiancée, Diane Price; brothers, Mark Norton, and Jimmy Ferrell III; sisters, Rita Steinbach, and Jennifer Jung; maternal grandmother, Ms. Helen Powell; maternal grandfather, William Little; aunts and uncles; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
