Larry Ryder

Larry Wayne Ryder, 73, of North Dinwiddie, departed from this life on Thursday, March 23, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Fred and Mary Alice Ryder; siblings, Marie Ryder Gump, Virgil Franklin Ryder, and Harvey Lee Ryder; his loving wife, Joyce Evelyn Ryder; and step son, Joey Green.

Larry retired from the Virginia Highway Department. He was passionate about his hobby of CB and Ham radios, on which he was often known to talk on all night with friends. He loved his constant companions, his dogs, Mi-Mi and Shadow, and took them for rides in the car daily. He was known for his fun-loving personality, as well as, playing guitar with family and friends. He loved the Beatles and bluegrass music too.

He is survived by his brother, John William Ryder (Faye), of North Dinwiddie; step daughter, Joyce Dayvault (David); step son, Tim Green (Trish); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd, S. Prince George, VA 23805.
