Larry J Shaffer, 59, of Prince George, VA, died November 26, 2023, after a short illness. Born in Verdun, France, to Shirley Mae Nicklas and the late Ronald Dean Shaffer, Larry moved to Prince George as a teenager.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Nancy Vaughan Shaffer; his mother, Shirley Nicklas, of Williamson, GA; a brother, Bryan (Susan Ingram) Shaffer, of Chester; two sisters, Connie (Stan Maring) Shaffer, of Palm Coast, FL, and Jenifer (Jeff) Reagan, of Williamson, GA; an uncle, Ches (Rosie) Nicklas, of Renfrew, PA; an aunt, Judy Raisley, of Prospect, PA; cousins in PA; and a nephew and niece in GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald D. Shaffer.
Larry worked for 36 years at S.P. Kinney Engineers, Inc. in Colonial Heights and was the Plant Manager for the last 20 years.
A memorial service will be held at a future date at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Shelter of Prince George County or another charity of your choice.
