Larry Ellis Shows, 68, of Hopewell, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017. He was born in Baton Rouge, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, Auber F. Shows; and brother, Joe Shows. Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley Shows; son, Timothy Carter Shows (Nicole); three daughters, Frances Melancon (Melvin), Pam Glass (James), and Margaret Rowland; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Carter, Hunter Carter, Haley Melancon, Jordan Melancon, Daniel Melancon, Christopher Glass, Jonathan Glass, Nathan Glass, Amber Kirkland and Whitney Waid; great-grandchildren, Riley Kirkland, Olivia Waid and Amelia Waid; mother, Maud Brashear Shows; siblings, Auber “Skipper” Shows, Priscilla Robert and Joan Melancon. Larry was a proud Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed with M.P.W. Industrial Services as a Diesel Mechanic for 24 years before his death. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at IPHC General Conference Center, 5201 Courthouse Rd. Prince George, VA 23875.
