Laura Skerritt

Laura Virginia Skerritt, 82, of Petersburg, passed away Monday, March 7, 2005. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Flossie Potts Skerritt. She worked as a medical records librarian at the old Petersburg Hospital before moving to Louisiana where she worked for many at the Touro Infirmary. Following her retirement, she returned to Petersburg to be near her family. Miss Skerritt was preceded in death by her brother, Edward J. Skerritt, Jr. She is survived by three nieces, Susan Angell and husband, David of Pennsylvania, Brenda Heath and husband, G. Tom, and Donna Smith and husband, Wayne all of Sutherland; four great-nieces; four great-nephews; a sister-in-law, Marie Skerritt of Sutherland; and a very dear friend, Juanita Stucker of Oklahoma. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 10, at Blandford Cemetery, with the Rev. Gene C. Tatum officiating.
