Laurie Jean Siltz

Laurie Jean Siltz, 66, of Prince George, VA passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021. Laurie was raised in the Panama Canal and was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Margaret Saarinen; a son, Sam Siltz; and a brother, Donald Saarinen. Laurie was a United States Army veteran having faithfully served her country for 16 years. After her discharge from the Army, she went on to become a registered nurse, and retired from Southside Regional Medical Center after 20 years of service. One of her greatest joys in life was reading. Mrs. Siltz is survived by her daughter, Maria E. Siltz of El Paso, TX; a brother, Albert Saarinen and wife, Zori of Panama City, Panama a sister, Lynn Saarinen and husband Herb Jahnke of Austin, TX, a step-mother, Gladys Saarinen of Panama City, Panama and a step-sister, Liesl Scullen and husband Mike of Michigan. All services will be private. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in memory of Laurie Siltz.
