Laverne Evelyn Lust King

King, LaVerne Evelyn Lust, of Chester, VA, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by family at St. Francis Medical Center on February 16, 2016. She was born in Oconto Falls, WI on February 6, 1925 and was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Alice Lust; and her only sister, Joyce Chase. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, CAPT William King, USN (Ret.); her three daughters, Nancy Murphy (Kevin), Barbara Edwards (Bruce), and Kathy King. Additional survivors include four grandchildren, Heather Murphy, Jennifer Murphy, Jonathan Edwards (Laura), and Krista Simpson (Jason); and four great-grandchildren, Kassie Simpson, Lexi Simpson, Soren Simpson, and John Edwards; nieces, Becky Szymonski (Chris), Judy Nowak (Ted), and Laureen Mueller (Wayne); and nephews, David King, Dan Chase, and Andy Chase. A celebration of LaVerne’s life will be conducted at Grace Lutheran Church, 13028 Harrowgate Road, Chester, VA on February 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. followed by inurnment in the Grace Memorial Garden Columbarium. A reception in the church fellowship hall will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Grace Lutheran Church Library Fund.
