L.C. Worley, 68, of Petersburg died Friday, October 31, 2008. He was born in Alabama the son of the late William M. and Emily Ziglar Worley. Mr. Worley was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years and then later from Defense General Supply Center after 20 years in maintenance. He was also a member of the American Legion Post in Petersburg and served in Korea. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Michelle; a daughter Corinne Smid and husband Donald; a son Fred Worley and wife Donna; five grandchildren Chris Worley, Brittany Smid, Ryan Worley, Jessie Smid and Josh Worley; four brothers Vanus Worley, Horace Worley, James Worley and wife Ruby, and Ray Worley; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 2nd at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 6 to 8 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Lester officiating.
