Leamon Wilkins, Sr., 83, affectionately known as “Pops” departed this life the morning of December 28, 2013 at Chippenham Johnston Willis Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Proudly, before daddy’s death, he professed Jesus as his Savior.
He was born August 20, 1930 in Dublin, NC. to the late Luther and Lola Wilkins. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy; brothers, Paul, John and Morris Allen and sister Clara May Barwick.
With more than forty years service at Asplundh Tree Expert Company, Leamon retired in 1992. After retirement, he worked alongside his brother Morris at Wilkins Tree Service until 2006. In 2006, he began working with his son Troy at TL Wilkins Tree Service where he continued to work until his recent decline in health.
Daddy enjoyed working in his garden and sitting on his back porch. He was a hard working man, with a strong hand and a soft heart. He was loved and admired by many and will surely be missed.
