Lee Roy Robertson, 77, of Prince George County, VA, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023. Born in Quinwood, WVA, he was the son of the late Eddie W. Robertson, Sr., and Hazel Ratliff Robertson; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Eddie W. Robertson, Jr. Mr. Robertson was a decorated United States Army veteran having faithfully served his country in Vietnam. Lee was an outgoing person, who never met a stranger and quickly became friends with people. He had a love for hot rods and the Washington Redskins, but one of his greatest joys in life was his love for children. He will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Mr. Robertson is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Susan Robertson; one daughter, Shannon Wilson and husband, Brian; three granddaughters, Hannah, Olivia, and Emma; two great-granddaughters, Mya, and Harper; two sisters, Jean Bennett and Beauty Smailes and husband, Mike; one brother, Rick Robertson and wife, Penny; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 9, 2023, with a viewing one hour prior at Smather's Funeral Chapel, 1109 Main St., Rainelle, WVA, 25962. Interment will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Crawley, WVA. Flowers are welcome, or contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Lee Roy Robertson.
