Lena Rebecca Wilmoth, 83, of Chester, widow of John H. Wilmoth, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Born in Sandston, VA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Roland and Lillian Freeman Applewhite. Mrs. Wilmoth lived most of her life in the Chester area, was a member of Chester Presbyterian Church for over 60 years and was a retired employee of the Defense Supply Center, Richmond, VA. She was a hard worker who loved working in her flower garden and enjoyed providing for her family, by cooking, sewing, and performing many other duties in her home. Mrs. Wilmoth is survived by her daughters, Karen Clanton of Chester, Linda Collins of Austin, TX, and Deborah Morris of Chester; grandchildren, Dawn Titmus, Heather Collins, John Morelli, Scott Morris, and Stephanie Webber; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor Mitterer, Madge Willis, and Shirley Anderson; brother, Waverly â??Sonnyâ? Applewhite; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28th at the Chester Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with The Rev. Joe Carson, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
