Leo Harding Mcpherson

Leo “Bing” McPherson, 74 of Chester, passed away on August 12, 2016. Leo served four years in the Air Force before going to work for General Electric in Roanoke, VA. In 1977 he went to work for the Communications Division of the Virginia State Police until he retired in 2006. He retired as a Navy reservist in 1999. He was very active in his community, his church and the Masons. He cared greatly about his family, and had a smile for all who knew or met him. He is survived by his loving mother, Gladys Branham, his devoted wife, Shirley McPherson of 48 years, and his children Charity McPherson Hibbard and Thomas McPherson, II. He is also survived by his grandchildren--in order of birth-- Kyle Hibbard, Alexis McPherson, Rachel Hibbard, Thomas McPherson III, and Ryan McPherson, his sisters Sallie Outland and Billie Hall and his brother Byron Branham. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 6600 Greenyard Rd, Chester on Saturday, August 20th at 1 PM.
