Leon Eugene Davis

Leon Eugene “Gene” Davis, 75, of Hopewell, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015. Born in North Carolina, he was the son of the late George W. Davis and Eleanor McDonald Davis. He was also preceded in death by seven siblings, Robert D. Davis, Ronald E. Davis, George W. Davis, Merle F. Davis, Joyce C. Davis, Darlene Davis, and baby Davis. Gene is survived by a daughter; three brothers, James C. Davis of Wake Forest, NC, Ray Davis of Holly Ridge, NC, and Larry Davis of Chester, VA; a sister, Linda Davis of Richmond, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park.
