Leon Jones

Leon Woodard Jones, Sr., passed away Saturday May 23, 2009. He was the son of the late
Sam and Vella Jones. He was an avid sports fan, fisherman and gardener, a member of Chester Methodist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from Bellwood DGSC in 1985, after 39 years of civil service. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Jo Anne Jones, daughter, Sherry J. Guthrie (Henry) of Chesterfield, son, Leon Woodard Jones, Jr. (Andrea) of Laguna Niguel, Ca., grandchildren, Whitney, Jenna, Kevin, Megan and a sister Shirley J. Lewis (Bob) of Virginia Beach. The family will receive family and friends at the Chester Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home at 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, Va. on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chester Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Dave Benshoff officiating. Interment will be immediately following at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Chester, Virginia..
