Mrs. Leona Coleman Keener, 80, of Hopewell, died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at her residence. She was born in Kenbridge, Va. And was a resident of Hopewell for most of her lifetime. Mrs. Keener was a member of First Christian Church in Hopewell, a retired beauty salon owner and a former Vice-President of LaMerick Beauty Salons on the East Coast. She was the daughter of the late Calvin Samuel and Effie T. Ward Coleman. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Kenneth B. Keener of Hopewell, two daughters, Linda Diane Keener of Glen Allen and Donna K. Stewart and husband, Jay of Hopewell, two sons, Kenneth B. Keener, Jr. and wife, Janice of Hopewell and Larry D. Keener and wife, Robbin of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, her grandchildren, Shay Stewart Oliver and Gina R. Stewart, of Hopewell, Lisa Keener and Lanaya K. Botbyl of Niagra Falls, Canada, Scott Keener of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Mark Callas and his fiancée, Tina Lantz, of Richmond, step-grandchildren, Ricky Chavis, Becky Chavis and Andy Chavis, all of Hopewell, 12 great-grandchildren, her sister, Violet C. Houser of Hopewell and her dearest friend, Marge Christoffel of Hopewell. The family will receive friends Monday evening, May 16, 2005 from 7 ? 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 11 AM in the First Christian Church, with the Rev. John Falk, pastor and Bob Lane, Associate pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Appomattox Cemetery.
