Leona Jane Sasser

Leona Jane Sasser, 79, of Chester, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Born and raised on a farm in Kinston, NC, she was the daughter of the late Leland Pollock and Katie Whaley Pollock. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Myers; and grandson, Justin. Jane was employed with Chesterfield County Public Schools as a teacher’s aide and librarian assistant retiring after 31 years. She was a faithful member of Chester Baptist Church for over 50 years. Jane is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Bobby Sasser; sons, Billy Sasser and wife, Linda, and Gene Sasser and wife, Kimberly; grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon, and Katie. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Chester Baptist Church with Dr. Lloyd Braswell officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Memorial Park.
