Leonard "Lenny" Wayne Grubbs, Sr.

Leonard “Lenny” Wayne Grubbs, Sr., 55, of Chester, VA passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017. He was the son of the late Ray Eugene and Jean Marie Grubbs. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Grubbs, Sr.; as well as uncles, Bobby Neisz and Willie Grubbs. Mr. Grubbs was a graduate of Thomas Dale High School and also was a former member of the Local Union #28 Ironworkers. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Penny Grubbs; children, Leonard “Lenny” Grubbs, Jr., Andrew Grubbs, and Lydia Grubbs; grandchildren, Hayden Grubbs, Brantley Grubbs, and Savannah Grubbs; brothers, Marvin Grubbs and Steven Grubbs; mother and father-in-law, Nat and Jean Bittenbender; aunts, Mimi Grubbs, June Kleis and Susan Johnson; uncles, Jimmy Grubbs and Mason Harris, Sr.; step-mother, Sherry Grubbs; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins;. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Rock Church of Petersburg, 2301 County Dr. Petersburg VA, 23803. Interment will follow at the Bullock-Grubbs Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
