Leonard Sr. Newman

Leonard A. Newman, Sr., 93, of Colonial Heights, passed away on July 28, 2012. Born in King and Queen County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Noah and Lena Newman. Leonard retired from Brown & Williamson after 35 years of service. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Bernice Newman, and granddaughter, Christal Pannill. Leonard is survived by his daughter, Maxine Newton (Ronnie); daughter, Anne Pannill (Jim); son, Leonard A. Newman, Jr. (Brenda); brother, Calvin Newman (Dot); 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation service on Monday July 30, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Tuesday July 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Blandford Cemetery.
