Leroy Wilkins Berryman, 89, of Surry passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Consulate Health Care of Windsor. A native of Surry County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Madison W. and Bessie Stroud Berryman and his wife, Elizabeth Galloway Berryman.
Mr. Berryman was a member and former deacon of Surry Baptist Church; a past secretary of the Menâ??s Bible Class; a member of the American Legion Post #160 of Surry; a member of Surry Ruritan Club and past president in 1987; a member of Surry County Farm Bureau and a Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Berryman is survived by his cousins and his extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Surry Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Surry Baptist Church, P.O. Box 147, Surry, VA 23883. Condolences may be posted at www.jtmorriss.com .
