Lessie F. Branton

Lessie W. Farley Branton, 97 of Colonial Heights, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late James William and Loulie Ann Wells Farley. She preceded in death by her husband Charles Harry Branton, Jr., three sons, Charles Harry Branton, III, James Hilbert Branton and Charles William Branton. She was a retired secretary for Standard James, Inc. in Petersburg. She was a former member of the Memorial Methodist and a member of the Washington Street United Methodist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Margaret Branton Burgess of Colonial Heights; Mildred Ann Branton Allen of Dinwiddie; Edna Pollard of Williamston, NC ; sister-in-law, Maxine Branton of Greenville, NC.; four grandsons, Dennis Allen, Clifford Charles Allen, Ricky Pollard, Keith Branton; four granddaughters, Kim Allen Underwood, Debra Pollard, Kathy Holliday, Kay Menges. Mrs. Branton raised Wilfred Gray Rowlett and wife, Hope of Washington, DC. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday July 25, 2007 in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday July 25, 2007 in Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone, VA. Family would like to thank the Medi Home Health and Hospice.
