Lewis Edward â??Eddieâ? Sullivan, 85, of Dewitt, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007 at his residence. Born in Taylorville, IL, he was the son of the late Opal Shake Sullivan and John Roy and Winifred Sullivan. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was the owner and operator of Sullivanâ??s Garage and Glass Shop in Dewitt for many years, operated an active farm, and retired from Fort Lee as a mechanic. Mr. Sullivan was an active member and Elder at Bott Memorial Presbyterian Church, a member of Dewitt-Rocky Run Ruritan Club, and American Legion Post 287. He was a loving and supportive husband and father. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Georgie Smith Sullivan; daughter, Sharon A. Suprun and husband, Steve of Chester; sons, Thomas E. Sullivan and wife, Jean of Midlothian and Robert B. Sullivan and wife, Beth of Dewitt; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary S. Moffitt of Morrisonville, IL; and brother, James Loren Sullivan of Arizona. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 29, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrenâ??s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com
