Lillian Gibbs

Lillian Crowder Gibbs, 88, of Sutherland died on Tuesday, May 12, 2009. A native of Ettrick, VA she was preceded in death by her parents, John M. and Essie Bridgewater Crowder; her husband, Ira T. Gibbs, Sr.; her daughter, Betty Gibbs Palmer and her granddaughter, Crystal F. Gibbs. Lillian is survived by her children, Mary Gibbs Hamilton of Florida, Ira T. Gibbs, Jr. and wife, Marie of Dinwiddie, VA, Robert N. Gibbs and wife, Diane of Yale, VA, Aubrey A. Gibbs and wife, Karen of Sutherland, VA, Jerry W. Palmer and wife, Edna of Church Road, VA, John M. Palmer of Florida, Catherine P. Livesay of Chesterfield, VA and Mary P. Purdy of Chesterfield, VA; eighteen grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and sisters, Blanche C. Fought of Pennsylvania and Julia C. Miles of West Virginia. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, May 15, 2009 at the funeral home.
