Lillian Loraine â??Peanutâ? Hawkins, 80, of Dinwiddie, VA., died Monday, November 16, 2009 at the residence of her daughter in Hopewell, VA. â??Peanutâ? was very devoted to her family and was an especially loving mother and grandmother. She was formerly employed by a manufacturing firm as a sewing machine operator. Mrs. Hawkins was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Myrtle Wells Maitland, her husband Douglas Hawkins, two brothers, a sister, a son, Clifton Maitland and a daughter, Judy Finch. She is survived by her children, Floyd Maitland and Rose, William Maitland and wife Martha, Allen Ozmore and his wife Terri, Nancy Elliott, David Hawkins and his wife Lynn, Martha Barreto and her husband Ramon, 30 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, a sister, Margaret Colvin, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 20, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dawson Bailey officiating.
