Linda Hobbs

Linda Brockwell Hobbs, 63, of Hopewell, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in John Randolph Medical Center. Mrs. Hobbs was a life-long resident of Hopewell and was employed as a Data Entry Operator at the Hopewell Police Department since 2008. She had been employed as a Victim Witness Advocate since 1999. Previously she was a Civil Servant with over twenty years of service at Fort Lee. Mrs. Hobbs loved animals especially her three cats and one dog. It seemed as if she adopted every stray cat that came along. She was preceded in death by her parents, David G. and Gladys M. Shurm Brockwell; and her husband, Robert Hobbs. She is survived by her sister, Judith â??Judyâ? B. Lafleur and her husband Paul; a sister-in-law, Rev. Betty A. Hobbs, and an uncle, William E. Shurm; as well as numerous cousins. The family will receive friends Friday, March 25, 2011 from 6-8 pm in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11:00 am in Appomattox Cemetery with Rev. Troy Kaichen, officiating.
