Linda Susan Hurt

Linda Susan Hurt, 66, of Chester, VA, died Saturday, December 2, 2017. Linda retired from the Defense Logistics Agency at DGSC after more than 30 years of civil service. She loved gardening, working in the yard, and feeding the birds, especially hummingbirds. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Thornton and a sister, Tammy Huffman. She is survived by her children, Crystal Harvey, Matt Harvey, Lyle Hurt, and Cody Harvey, 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; parents, Otmer and Retta Huffman; siblings, Richard Huffman, Carla Rogers (Danny), Gloria Marion (Jeff), and Jeff Huffman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
