Linda Jewel Wilson Gilliam, 54, of Colonial Heights, formerly of Dinwiddie County, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 after a brief illness. Jewel was a registered nurse for 27 years. Her service included ICU at Southside Regional Medical Center, nurse manager at Lucy Corr Village, Poplar Springs Hospital, and currently at Central State Hospital. She was a member of First Christian Church in Hopewell, the Fraternal Order of Eagles 882 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Loyal Order of Moose Ladies Auxiliary, and a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Jewel’s hobbies included sewing, painting, planting flowers, and spending time at the beach. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Mosely Sheffield; step-father, Charles Curtis Sheffield; and sisters, Roselyn Dale Wilson-Lewis and Patricia Lynn Wilson. She is survived by her father, Charles G. Wilson and momma, Irene W. Wilson; a son, Logan Grigg Gilliam and his fiancé, Allison Autry; a grandson, Zane Stewart Gilliam; a nephew, Charles Robert Wilson-Adams; and her faithful companion, her Chihuahua “Taco.” She is also survived by many friends, including her BFF’s, Donna J. Ellis, Beth S. Price, and Teresa S. Burton. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at First Christian Church, 203 N. 11thAvenue, Hopewell, VA 23860.
