Linda Lee Massey

Massey, Linda Lee, 81, of Hopewell, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2025. Ms. Massey was born January 10, 1944, in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She lived in the Hopewell area since 1964. She retired from DuPont Teijin Films (formerly ICI Americas), in Chesterfield County, in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Sallie T. Massey; and by her children's father, Charlie Lee Carpenter, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Steven Carpenter and his wife, Andrea, of Powhatan, David Carpenter and his wife, Michelle, of Colonial Heights, and Sarah Faulkner and her husband, Ricky, of Hopewell; nine grandchildren, Morgan, Lauren, Nick, Matthew, Audrey, Dillyn, Victoria, Samantha, and Timothy; as well as several great-grandchildren; and many wonderful friends.

Linda was a member of Calvary's Love Ministries, in Hopewell. She enjoyed hobbies such as bowling, cross-stitch, knitting, and reading. She spent many hours on the Chesapeake Bay and the Rappahannock River over the years. She took great comfort in the affection of her two cats and loved all her pets dearly. She will be missed by all who have known and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am, on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the funeral home, with Pastor Rocky Shearin officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00pm, at Cedarwood Cemetery, in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
