On Sunday, June 23, 2024, Linda C. Ramsey, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was born March 9, 1946, to the late William A. Canada Jr. and Mary Spencer Canada in Halifax County, VA. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Clinton E. Ramsey.
She attended Midway School in Dinwiddie, VA. After school, she went on to be a beautician at Jewel's in Petersburg. Later, she went to work for the family business, Ramsey's Iron & Metal.
She was a member of Living Stone Baptist Church in North Dinwiddie. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, Colonial Heights.
After an early retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband. She also enjoyed playing bingo, baking, junk shopping, and spending time with family.
After a period of declining health, she enjoyed talking on the phone and visits from family and friends.
Mrs. Ramsey is survived by her daughters, Mary Beth Wheelhouse (Stuart) and Belinda R. Ingram; grandchildren, Sarah E. Pierce (Justin), Stuart "Alex" Wheelhouse (Brittany), and Ryan Ingram (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Savannah E. Pierce and Aiden C. Pierce; brother, Bill Canada (MiMi); best friend and aunt, Doris Cole; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 103 S. Adams Street, Petersburg, where a funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Southlawn Memorial Park.
