Lloyd Bennett

Lloyd Lee Bennett, 77, of Hopewell, died Saturday, September 20, 2008. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired employee of the City of Hopewell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Myrtle Meadows Bennett, and his wife, Shirley A. Bennett. He is survived by four sons, Gene Sober, Jr. and companion, Robin, David Bennett, Sr., Steve Bennett, Sr. and companion, Delinda, Mark Bennett and wife, Amy, two daughters, Debbie Adams, and husband, Larry, Dianna Bennett and husband, Eddie, 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, two sisters, Carrie Long and Maxine Ames and two brothers, Clyde Bennett and Gerald Bennett. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 24, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell, Virginia.
