Lois Jones

Lois Herring Jones, age 83, of Chester, VA., passed away Monday, September 27, 2010. She was born in Goldsboro, NC, the daughter of the late James and Margaret Herring. Mrs. Jones was also preceded in death by her husband, Murray D. Jones, Sr. She was an active member in the Moose Lodge of Dinwiddie. Mrs. Jones also volunteered at Bensley Bermuda Rescue Squad, Chesterfield County Judiciary System, and Enon Fire Department Co. #6. She is survived by her children, Elaine Scougal and husband, Mark, Danny Jones and wife Helma, Brenda Barricks and husband, Carlton, Jimmy Jones and wife, Lorie, and Jeff Jones and wife, Theresa; grandchildren, Beatrice, Mary, Johnny, Bobby, Erik, Kevin, Ava, Jack, and Daniel; great grandchildren, Heather, Robert, Pacey, Leila, and Isaac; and brothers, Monroe Herring and wife, Frances, and Gene Herring and wife, Frances. The family will receive friends at the Chester chapel of J. T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
