Lois S. Kafka of Dinwiddie passed away on August 20, 2021.
Lois was born September 21, 1944 to the late Albert Seymour and Beula B. Wells. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Christine Barrett and Sherry Lynn Nester.
Lois raised her children and then went on to complete her education, graduating from Petersburg School of Nursing. After graduating, she worked at a local hospital and a doctor’s office. She went on to work at Hopewell Convalescent Center until her retirement.
Lois is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert “Bobby” Kafka; daughters, Sandy Peterson (Chris) of Prince George and Mary McKinney (David) of Elkhart, Texas; sons, Tommy Barrett (April) of Dinwiddie, Johnny Kafka (Rebecca) of Dinwiddie, and Ronnie Kafka (Teresa) of Bullard, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Betty Solesbee of Hopewell and Mildred Pride of Church Road; and one brother, Albert Seymour of Knoxville, TN.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 10 – 11 AM at J.T. Morriss & Son – Dinwiddie, 6616 Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie, where a funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
