Lonnie Allen Hartsell

Lonnie Allen Hartsell, 80 of Hopewell, Virginia, passed away January 15, 2024. He is survived by his children, Bruce Hartsell, Mary Ann Timperio, Billy Benson, Michael Benson, and Joseph Benson; his favorite grandkids, Mariah and Paul Martin, Brittney and Benjamin Aragon, Tori Benson, Lisa Mulholland, Courtney Hogan and Jason Amos, Bobby and Caitlyn Mullen, Tyler Benson, Jordan Benson and Zack Benson, Chris Hare, Trevor and Trent Nida, and Logan Hartsell; and seventeen great-grandkids, Troy, Michael, and Tobias Martin, Chloe, Benjamin Jr., Autumn, and Thea Aragon, Joselyn, Rowyn, and Finley Mullen, Gabriel and Hunter Sees, Addlyn and Evan Mulholland, Kayla Foster, Jaxon Hare, Eli and Zander Nida; brothers, Larry Hartsell, Clyde (Alice) Hartsell, Paul (Janet) Hartsell, Judy Hartsell, and Beverly Patrick. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon K Hartsell; daughter, Rhonda Rennea Mullen; father, Lonnie C. Hartsell; mother, Bessie Louise Turner; and Poochie, Johnny, and Skeeter. Lonnie was a manager for the City of Hopewell. He enjoyed taking his daily drive, collecting coins, and spending time with his great-grand babies. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Appomattox Cemetery.
