Lonnie Wade McCoy, 75, of Chesterfield, VA passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Born in Richmond, VA he was the son of the late Lawrence and Edna Evans McCoy. Mr. McCoy was a United States Navy veteran having faithfully served his country from 1964 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. While in the Navy he served on the USS Bainbridge which was one of the first nuclear powered ships that went around the world and crossed the equator five times. As a golfer, he got a hole in one at a Country Club in Florida, and caught a 553 pound Blue Marlin on his third wedding anniversary in Nags Head, NC. Mr. McCoy had worked for Cii Services for 36 years and then went on to work at John Randolph Medical Center as a Mechanical Engineer for another 6 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Rose McCoy; a grandson, Oliver Grayson Campbell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February, 22, 2022 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered at
