Loraine Abernathy Cole

Loraine Abernathy Cole, 90, of S. Prince George, VA, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. and Carrie C. Abernathy; husband, Leroy J. Cole; and brother, Charles David Abernathy. Loraine retired from Civil Service at Ft. Lee after 38 years and was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, arranging flowers and cooking for her family. She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Cole and Gerald Cole; two grandchildren, Bryan Cole and Lynsey Cole; and numerous extended family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Southlawn Memorial Park following the service at 12:30 P.M. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M at the funeral home.
