Louan Lambeth Stanfield

Stanfield, Louan Lambeth, 87, of Chester, went home on February 1, 2025. Louan was born in Rockingham County, N.C., to Bill and Louise Lambeth. She was a hardworking tobacco farmer in her youth, married her high school sweetheart, and spent her life as an educator and true disciple of Christ. She taught elementary school at Beulah and Ecoff for many years. It was her mission in life to spread the love of Jesus, especially to her students and all children everywhere. She taught Kindergarten at Moriah UMC, in Greensboro, N.C., and she led youth groups at Chester UMC. She taught Sunday School at various churches, led a Children's Bible Study Fellowship Group, and implemented Children's Church at Chester UMC. After retirement, she enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and children at every grocery store and restaurant in Chester. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Vann; and her four children, Michael (Janet), Pat (Lisa), Jeff (Bev), and Jill (Craig). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Mathis (Marina), Carl, Mallory (Christopher), Grace (Malcolm), Luke (Sierra), Jacob, and Emma (Carson); and six great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Chester United Methodist Church, at 11:00. The family will receive visitors prior to the service, at 10:00. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in her memory to your favorite charity.
