Louis Herve Bertrand

Louis Herve Bertrand, 70, of Dinwiddie, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, September 4, 2016. Born in Acushnet, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Antoine Bertrand and Emelia Pelletier Bertrand. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Roger Bertrand, Roland Bertrand, Raymond Bertrand, and Antoine Bertrand; and brothers-in-law, Alfred Gauthier and William Clark. Louis was a faithful member of St. John’s Catholic Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family and they will miss him dearly. He is survived by his wife, Joan Martins Bertrand of Dinwiddie; two daughters, Cheryl Bertrand McGee of Dinwiddie, and Tracie Bertrand Morris (Joseph, III.) of Burlington, IA; four grandchildren, Courtney McGee of Ashville, NC, Kaitlyn McGee of Richmond, VA, Joseph Morris, IV. of Burlington, IA and Madison Morris of Burlington, IA; two great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Maddlyn Carroll of Asheville, NC; brother, Robert Bertrand (Gerri); four sisters, Theresa Gauthier, Rita St. Laurent (Maurice), Sr. Lucille Bertrand SSJ, and Pauline Clark; four sisters-in-law, Irene Bertrand, Laura Bertrand, Claire Cyr, and Jackie Bertrand; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 7310 Squirrel Level Rd. Petersburg, VA 23805.
