Louis James Stech, Jr., 70, of Dinwiddie County, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017. A U.S. Army veteran, Louis was a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie and a lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church. He retired from the Defense Commissary Agency at Fort Lee. He loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis James Stech. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Stech; son, David Stech (Michelle); daughter, Amy Stech; step-son, Troy Costley (Sarah); mother, Mary Stech; grandchildren, Logan, Marissa, Kelvin, Keyshawn, Sydney, and Shelby; sister, Patsy Root (Stan); brothers, Bobby Stech (Wanda), Eddie Stech (Sonja), and Tommy Stech (Mary Beth); lifelong friend, Calvin Wilkerson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors, nurses and caregivers at MCV for their compassionate care, and to Marla, Rob, and their boys for all of their help. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at St. John Catholic Church followed by interment in the church cemetery.
