Louise Cameron Brockwell, 89, of Petersburg, VA died Monday, August 17, 2015 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was born January 7, 1926 in North Scituate, RI to the late Franklin and Anita Cameron. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Eugene “Gene” Brockwell, Sr.; sisters, Adelia Potter, Vera Adams, her twin Louessie “Red” Sexton, and Elsie Cameron; brothers, Byron, Charles, Earl, and Nelson Cameron. She is survived by four sons, Malcolm Eugene, Jr. “Genie” and wife, Connie of Sutherland, VA, Franklin Lee “Frankie” and wife, Doris of Chester, VA, Richard Nelson “Rick” and wife, Megan of Dinwiddie, VA, and Willie Harold and wife, Yvonne of Colonial Heights, VA. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Jennifer Pelotte, Heather Greve, Nick Brockwell, Michelle Brockwell, Shannon Townsend, and Evan Brockwell, three great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Judy Thayer. Mrs. Brockwell retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company after more than 30 years of service. She volunteered with United Way and American Red Cross blood drives for many years. She served on many committees, including the International Board of Al-Anon – a friend of Bill W. and Lois W. She was a member of Kenwood United Methodist Church in Dinwiddie, VA. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Mary Dadisman officiating. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Dunlop House Assisted Living where Mrs. Brockwell spent her last year.
