Louise Lewis Budlove, 88, of Blackstone, passed away in her home, in Petersburg, on Monday, August 5, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Luther T. Lewis and Martha Beatrice Connelly Lewis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Budlove; and her brothers, Luther T. Lewis, Jr., Andrew J. Lewis, and James C. Lewis; and her sister, Sarah L. Lewis. Louise worked at EPES Transport, out of high school, before beginning her career as a mom and homemaker. Louise enjoyed sports and was very active in a bowling league and a golf league, for many years. She was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church and continued her dedication of faith at Second Baptist Church. In her later years of her golf career, she volunteered, as a starter, at Dogwood Trace Golf Course, and would greet players with a warm welcome and a smile on her face. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Louise is survived by her two devoted daughters, Debbie Jackson (Doug) and Linda Hamilton; grandchildren, Michelle Terry (Melvin), Sarah Millard (David), and Anna Millard-Marksberry (Chris); great-grandchildren, Alyssa Shorter (Brandon), Carissa Lea (C.J.), Brianna Terry, Rawson Terry, Aubree Millard, Jasper Marksberry, David Davis, and Michael Davis; and one great-great-granddaughter, Joanna Shorter.
The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m., at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, on Monday, August 12, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 11:00a.m., at Second Baptist Church, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church or the Budlove Scholarship Program at The John Randolph Foundation.
