Louise Childs

Louise H. Childs, 62, of Colonial Heights, passed away Monday, September 19, 2005. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Rachel Barricks Hughes. A devoted wife and mother, she retired after eighteen years with the Colonial Heights Police Department, and was a Past President of the Colonial Heights Quarterback Club. Mrs. Childs was preceded in death by her aunt, Sarah ?Siro? Whitby; twin brother, David Hughes; brothers, Eddie Hughes, Mac Hughes, and Donald Hughes. She is survived by her husband, Floyd Raymond ?Beanie? Childs, Jr.; sons, Brian Childs and wife, Margaret Childs and Daryl Childs; grandchildren, Nathan Childs, Rachel Childs, and Meagan Childs and her mother, Kimberly Hairfield; brothers, Marshall Hughes and wife, Joann and Thomas Gene Hughes; sister, Patricia Pugh and husband, Lloyd Pugh; sister-in-law, Julie Hughes; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM Thursday, September 22, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
