Louise Groome

Louise Meredith Groome, 87, of Matoaca, VA passed away November 16, 2004 at her daughter’s home in Va. Beach, VA. Mrs. Groome was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Willie Woodrow Groome. She was a lifelong member of Matoaca United Methodist Church and a retired employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco, Co. Survivors include her daughter, Donna Groome Payne and her husband, Allen; two grandsons, Christopher Allen Payne and wife, Rosie of Dunedin, Fl and Clarke Meredith Payne and wife, Lisa, and two great-granddaughters, Grace Elizabeth Payne and Ella Louise Payne all of VA. Beach, VA. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, November 19, at Matoaca United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donna Mott officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall for one hour following the service. Interment will be at 1:00 pm at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Matoaca United Methodist Church, 6301 River Road, Matoaca, VA. 23803 or Heartland Hospice, who lovingly cared for Mrs. Groome during the final weeks of her illness, 5040 Corporate Woods Dr., Suite 150, VA.
