Louise Keene Henshaw

Louise Keene Henshaw, 80, of Church Road, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Keene, Sr. and Millie Keene; sister, June Morgan and her husband, Bill Morgan; and brother, William A. Keene, Jr. Louise graduated from Midway High School, in 1960, where she excelled in basketball and softball. After graduating from high school, Louise worked at Titmus Optical before working as a stenographer at General Defense Supply Center. Louise played a vital part in helping her husband start his many businesses, and she enjoyed working alongside him. Louise enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Go Getter League and the Nottoway Ladies League. She also enjoyed shopping, line dancing, playing Scrabble and putting puzzles together. Louise was a member of Central Baptist Church for 58 years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and mother-in-law, and loved watching her grandchildren play sports and cheer. She will be greatly missed. Louise is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Horace L. Henshaw; children, Pamela Christopher (Mike), H. Keith Henshaw (Tonya), and Kenneth Henshaw; grandchildren, Alex Christopher (Paige), Nicholas Christopher, Alyssa Henshaw, Ashton Henshaw, Abby Henshaw, and Emily Henshaw; great-granddaughters, RaeLynn Christopher and Bryleigh Christopher; brothers, Campbell Keene (Nancye) and Robert Keene (Nancy); sister-in-law, Sheila Keene; a host of nieces and nephews, to include Todd Morgan (Wendy), Tammy Morgan, Tracey Staton (Tony); special thanks to brother-in-law, David Henshaw; caregivers, Brandie, Crystal, Amy, and Leslie, without whose help Louise may not have been able to stay in her home; and numerous other family members and friends. A special thank you to Crater Community Hospice for all their care during her illness. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 11 AM, at Central Baptist Church, 6405 Courthouse Road, Church Road, VA 23833, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church.
