Louise Gill Mayer

Louise G. Mayer, 75, of Petersburg, VA, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip E. Mayer, Jr. Louise was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and was in the Azalea Garden Club for 28 years where she won several awards in floral arranging competitions. Louise took pride in being a great hostess, and was tireless in her care for others. She is survived by her son, Daniel Philip Mayer; daughter, Debbie Mayer DeLong (Steve); brother, Jerry Taylor (Barbara) and numerous loving extended family members. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, at 10:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
