Louise O. Spain

Savannah, Ga – Louise Hines Owen Spain, born April 28, 1910, died on Friday, April 16, 2004 at Hospice House in Savannah, Ga. Formerly of Petersburg, Va and Richmond Hill, Ga, she was the widow of Robert Marsh Owen, Sr. and William Beckwith Spain. Mrs. Spain was the oldest living member of Ocran United Methodist Church in Sutherland, Va at the time of her death, and an associate member of Richmond Hill United Methodist Church. She lived most of her life in Petersburg, Va where she retired from Petersburg Motor Company in the late 1970’s. She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Owen Rowland and son-in-law, John D. Rowland of Savannah, Ga; two sons, Robert Marsh Owen, Jr. and daughter-in-law Ann Owen of Providence Forge, Va; and Dennis Warren Owen and life partner Jack Aja of Puerto Vallarto, Mexico. Survivors also include three grandsons, John (Jay) David Rowland, Jr. (Cindy) of Discovery Bay, Ca, Christopher (Chris) Scott Rowland (Kim) of Savannah, Ga and Matthew (Matt) Brent Rowland of Rome, Ga; two great grandchildren, Gabriel Owen Rowland of Savannah and Anya Jayne Rowland of Discovery Bay. Visitation will be at Ocran United Methodist Church on Monday, April 19, 2004 at 7:00 to 8:30 P. M. Funeral Services will be held at Ocran United Methodist Church, Sutherland, Va on Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at 2:00 P. M. with burial following in the church cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later time in the chapel at Magnolia Manor on the Coast in Richmond Hill, Ga.
