Louise Phipps

Louise Richardson Phipps, 79, of Dinwiddie passed away at home on June 5, 2004. Mrs. Phipps was a daughter of the late Arthur H. and Nora Chambliss Edmunds Richardson. Mrs. Phipps was a graduate of Westhampton College and former Hopewell and Dinwiddie school teacher for many years. She was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church, Dinwiddie. She is survived by her husband William J. Phipps, daughter, Rebecca Phipps Dodge of North Andover, Mass., son, William J. Phipps, Jr., M. D. and wife Donna of Petersburg. Also 6 grandchildren, Doug, Molly and Jim Dodge, William, Gini and Mason Phipps, sister Polly Richardson Winfield of Dinwiddie, brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Richardson, Jr. of West Point, VA, Aunt Mary Richardson Butterworth of Richmond and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 7th in the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The interment will follow in Asbury Cemetery in McKenney, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight, Sunday, from 5 to 7 PM. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in her memory to the Rocky Run Athletic Association, c/o the Bank of McKenney, Dinwiddie, VA 23841.
