Louise Marie Taylor Rackley, 88 of Hopewell, VA went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, March 1, 2009. She was born in Buenta Vista, VA May 26, 1920. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Washington Taylor and Nanie Henson Taylor, her husband, Howard S. Rackley, Sr. and a son-in-law, Micky Doxey. She had seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by ten children, five sons and five daughters. Mrs. Rackley, a twin herself, had three sets of twins. Surviving are sons Howard S. Rackley, Jr. and wife, Pat of Disputanta, VA, Donald Rackley, Ronald Rackley and wife, Earlene, Gerald Rackley and wife, Shirley all of Colonial Heights, VA. Billy Rackley and wife, Kathy of Prince George, VA daughters, Jane Rackley White and husband, Leonard of Powhatan,VA, Phyllis Ann Rackley Webb and husband, Clyde of Colonial Heights, VA Betty Rackley Doxey of Hopewell, VA, Barbara Rackley Clavier and husband, Tim of Richmond, VA and Cheryl Rackley and fiancé, Ricky of Chester,VA, 31 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was much loved by all. She was a lifetime member of West End Presbyterian, was active in her circle meetings and worked with the Sheepfold in the nursery at her church. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 637, served three terms as President and also held office as Chaplain. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 4, 2009 from 7-9 pm in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel of Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Ed Reed, assistant pastor of West End Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, VA Chapter Box 21, 2101 Executive Drive, Hampton, VA 23666.
